The KIMUN KAMUY 2 is a compact hunting knife designed by Takaaki Nakajo, a hunter of brown bears for 50 years. Kimun Kamui is an Ainu word meaning "mountain god" or brown bear. The shape of the blade when the cutting edge is down is the same as the shape of the "brown bear's canine". As with brown bear fangs, self-defense has been taken into consideration, and while improving the piercing function, the radius of the blade has been increased to enhance the skinner function. The main use is for cleaning deer and bear.
The G Sakai Kimun Kamuy 2 is 9" in overall length with a 4-1/4" blade. The 3.4mm thick, 15-layer Damascus with a VG-10 core blade has a 3-5/8" cutting edge. This is a full tang knife with integral finger grooves and a finger choil at the blade tang for a very sure grip and intricate cuts. The black G-10 handle scales have a fine texture. There is a large lanyard hole at the butt end and aggressive thumb grooves on the blade spine. The genuine Stag handle has a polished brass plate at the tang. An excellent belt sheath with snap closure is included.
