Eickhorn Solingen Aviator III Aircrew Rescue and Survival ASEK Combat Knife

The Eickhorn Solingen Aviator III is the knife you want to carry if you are going in harm's way.

The Aviator III knife is approximately 10-5/8" in overall length with a 5-1/4" blade.  The black KalGard coated blade is forged from corrosion free 1.4110 steel (HRC 56).  This is a bowie style design with a fine cutting edge along with 1-3/4" of laser cut serrations.  The blade spine has very aggressive saw teeth.  Each knife is individually serial numbered.  The maintenance free, ergonomically designed black all weather handle grip is made to MIL specifications.  It has a glass-fiber reinforced polyamide handle.  The handle end has a hardened carbide glass breaker.

The Aviator III is more of a survival system than just a knife.  The black Cordura sheath with has a hard insert with water drainage holes for blade protection, 2 separate handle retainers, and two leg straps.  A diamond sharpening plate and small emergency knife rescue/cord-cutter/screwdriver are included and are held in small pockets on the sheath.   The straps can be removes so that the sheat can be adapted for all US MOLLE and German IDZ carrying systems of the German Bundeswehr.
